National Emergency Grants: Program Design under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act)

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) provided additional resources for National Emergency Grants (NEGs) to assist workers during these difficult economic times and help contribute to the economic recovery. The Department of Labor recently issued guidance on Recovery Act-funded NEGs, which is intended to provide applicants with additional options to address the impacts of the economic downturn in a manner that is appropriate to their specific economic situation and labor markets.
