Using "the Toolkit" to Improve Youth Case Management Practices

Posted by Margaret Lamb - On April 16, 2014 (EST)

The Toolkit for Frontline Services for Youth, affectionately known as “the Toolkit”, has been an essential resource for the public workforce system since 2007. Many are aware of the tool but are unsure about how to effectively apply its content to improve operations. This session will pull out the hidden gems in the Toolkit and provide easy to follow tips (delivered by Regional, State and Local “Toolkit Superfans”) for putting them to use at the local level! This webinar serves as a companion to the recent Employment and Training (ETA) webinar entitled "The Key to Effective Case Management for Youth" and to other ETA guidance specific to youth case management principles & practices. While we will re-cap the key principles of youth case management, the primary objective of this session is to teach you how to use the Toolkit’s editable training tools to enhance your team's performance and ultimately the outcomes for our young participants.

The discussion will be facilitated by Lori Crockett Harris, WIA Youth Program Lead for USDOL/ETA, Region 5 who will be joined by:

  • Scott Fromader (Education Consultant/State Youth Liaison, WI Department of Workforce Development)
  • Alice Prince (Youth Services Manager, St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment)
