WIOA Stakeholder Consultation: Strategic Program Alignment and Unified Planning

Posted by Margaret Lamb - On September 11, 2014 (EST)

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) of the U.S. Department of Labor (Department or DOL) invites state and local workforce leaders and practitioners, workforce system partners, customers, and other stakeholders to provide input on the implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (Pub.L. 113–128). ETA will gather input through this webinar via a “chat feature” in order to most efficiently gather thoughts and ideas from webinar participants. The topic for September 11, 2014 will focus on alignment of programs and the requirement for Unified Planning. We will present key requirements for the Unified and Combined State Plans. The majority of the session will be devoted to obtaining feedback and input from participants on opportunities and challenges for planning, how to ensure an inclusive and successful process, and steps the Department can take to facilitate the development of a truly strategic plan that will lead to states’ success in implementing WIOA. More information about the Act and specific discussion questions for this topic can be found at http://www.doleta.gov/WIOA.
